Did you know: There is no law or guideline that a crime scene is cleaned after a murder case! The responsibility for this lies with the victim's family. Every now and then a crime scene is "cleaned up" but not always and not professionally. As relative of a victim, in addition to the loss of your loved one, you may also be confronted with the blood of your loved one at the crime scene 😲

This is simply not appropriate. This causes even more trauma for the relatives. Especially if you are full of emotions and have to arrange everything. And why? Because of the costs! The cost of trauma treatment is much higher than the cost of cleaning a crime scene! And why not claim these costs from the perpetrator? It is not the victim's choice to be murdered, not the surviving relatives choice to lose a loved one this way.

This really must change. Surviving relatives already have a hard time and should not be confronted with this. Let's work together to bring change for (future) victims and surviving relatives. That a crime scene is cleaned professionally before being released to the relatives.
